Acts 1:8, “but, you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”
Dear Tim,
From volcanic ash that closed the London airport the day before we left, to a British Airway strike that almost cancelled our flight, to a severe thunderstorm that closed the Denver airport, to a tornado warning that caused us to evacuate our plane and seek refuge inside the airport storm shelter to almost missing our flight from London to Beirut, the Lord has brought us safely to Lebanon!
This week, our family had an opportunity to meet some Iraqi refugees with heart wrenching stories – stories of kidnapping and death threats against them for their faith in Christ. It is one thing to read about, quite another to hear them yourself. This has truly helped our children get a broader view of life here in the Middle East!
Yesterday, the day of Pentecost, we attended a Global Prayer meeting. We prayed for the youth and families throughout this region. We also prayed for all the nations. Before we did this, people stood in groups from their country. We were surprised to find over 20 countries represented there (from all over the world) – quite similar to the original day of Pentecost righter here in Beirut!
This week, we will begin our work in a local Christian orphanage. We will be painting bathrooms, helping in classrooms, assisting in Chapel time and lending a hand with their outdoor sports time. It will be a busy time and we pray also, a fruitful time.
We thank you for your prayers and support that helped us to get here. And for your prayers that are sustaining us. We would ask you to continue to pray for good health, strength and energy. Truly the harvest is plentiful and the workers are few. We are blessed to be used by the Lord as His workers.
In Him,
William, Mary, Jessica & Aaron Agius |
