Usher Ministry
To usher the body of Christ into the presence of God
What is an Usher?
Webster's online dictionary defines the word "usher" as "to conduct to a place, to precede as a forerunner, to cause to enter, to introduce". Let us conduct others to a place of knowing God; let us precede others and be a forerunner to the worship that occurs inside; let us help others enter into the very presence of God.
Why be an Usher?
We are given the great privilege of fulfilling the great commandment to love one another through service. We fulfill the great commission to make disciples by showing others what it means to be a follower of Christ through sacrificial service. This greatly pleases the Father, for what we do to others we do to Jesus.
The Father enjoys the worship given to Him and He uses the Word to change lives. Brothers and sisters who are able to fully participate in worship and the message in turn can help their family and the church. Those who think ushering is about finding seats do not understand the difference made in the lives of others as they worship and hear the Word. The role of the usher has eternal significance!
Psalm 84:10 (New King James Version)
For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
