Worship Is For God
We serve a great and mighty God. We cannot even begin to comprehend His greatness and the love he has for us (Eph. 3:19). Culture today becomes more and more consumerist driven and we must be careful to not worship the worship, but worship the Creator. Worship is for God, and since it is for God we must strive to give Him our very best. It’s the least we can do for all that He has done for us. Our worship should be a response to God for who He is, what He has done, and for the love that He has shown. “Its not about the worship, its what the worship is about.”
Worship Is a Lifestyle
Romans 12:1 helps us to understand that worship is not just the music, or being a part of a church service, but a lifestyle. Worship is sometimes a sacrifice of not doing what we want, but doing what is pleasing to God. It’s everything that we do directed to living a life that brings honor to Him. Our worship on Sunday should be a continuation of what we’ve been doing all week long.
Worship Through the Arts
God has given us a variety of different gifts that we can use to help us express our innermost feelings. Worship through the arts is one of the most powerful ways of expressing ourselves to God. Singing, dancing, and other forms of the arts are recorded throughout the bible as forms of worship (2 Chron. 5:13, 2 Sam. 6:14). The arts give us a way to physically show God our feelings for Him.
Here at CWC
We see the cultural danger of worshiping around a style and not the Savior. Music is not only for our enjoyment, but is the principle means we use to demonstrate our passionate praise to our Savior. As the gospel has been given to every tribe, tongue and nation; you will find our worship expression to be multi-cultural and multi-generational. With music from Contemporary Gospel, R & B, current anthems of the day, and old hymns, we merely facilitate while the people of God worship His Holy name.
